Mount Blanket

After seeing a homeless man in the winter of 2016, Hattie became concerned and wanted to know where those without homes sleep.  When she learned that many experiencing homelessness sleep outside, Hattie immediately wanted to help.  She asked her family, friends, and community to purchase and donate items for her to take to a local homeless shelter. Nearly 50 blankets were collected that year – a pile that grew as big as a mountain. And so Mount Blanket was born!

By sharing her Mount Blanket service project with others, Hattie has been able to effect meaningful change in her community. Since its start, Mount Blanket has collected donations of all new blankets, socks, household items, food, toys, and other needed items to donate to those experiencing homelessness.
